Cain Hargreaves

His jet black hair,
his gold-green eyes
make seeing him a nice surprise,
but no one knows
he wears a mask
to hide the scars
left by his past.
It also hides
the fear he holds
within his heart
where pain grows cold.

He pushes away others
to save them from his curse
Knowing if he doesn’t
they could wind up in a hearse.

His only true desire,
to see his father dead.
Knowing if this happens
the pain he feels will end.
He’ll silence him with poison
and stop the monster’s heart.
But at this battle’s end
another one will start.

In this never ending war
this boy’s fate is sealed.
All these battles stemming
from these wounds
that never healed.
